Description GasTech Engineering LLC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assembly Department Lead to work with our Assembly team with strong technical expertise, safety-focused leadership, and a commitment to quality. This role is essential to delivering high-precision process equipment that meets the highest industry standards and exceeds customer expectations. If you are a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we want to meet you! Leadership & Team Management Plan, schedule, and organize department workforce and job flow. Lead by example in maintaining a safe, clean, and professional work environment. Conduct or oversee employee training and promote team development. Communicate effectively with staff, management, customers, and vendors. Safety & Compliance Enforce and promote company safety policies. Participate in safety audits and safety improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with ASME and ANSI welding code requirements. Quality & Production Oversee assembly, fabrication, testing, and finishing operations. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Ensure personnel are properly qualified and following GasTech Weld Procedure Specifications. Coordinate tooling, space, and equipment needs to maximize productivity. Monitor job progress and provide updates to the Manufacturing Manager. Technical Oversight Ensure proper storage, marking, and availability of welding consumables. Maintain knowledge of oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and arc-gouging operations. Identify and schedule required maintenance for shop equipment. Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 5 years of experience in process equipment assembly, including at least 3 years in a Code welding facility. Strong, hands-on fitting and welding background required. Demonstrated leadership experience; prior team-lead or supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and all engineering documentation. Ability to read and understand NDE results required. Experience working in an ISO 9001–certified environment preferred. Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office, preferred. Comprehensive understanding of shop scheduling, shop layout, and process throughput required. Must pass a qualified Welding Test and meet class-appropriate experience requirements. Higher vocational/technical welding education preferred. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion at all times. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills required. Travel is rare but may be required occasionally.
