Description Assembly Operative G&H Ilminster, Somerset Full Time Permanent Position, Monday to Friday Do you have a background in manufacturing, assembly or engineering work? As experts in the technology of light, G&H works with customers to provide optical systems, assemblies, and components for demanding applications. We have a vacancy in our busy assembly department, working within a small team to manufacture periscopes and opto-mechanical sights. Main responsibilities include; • Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures • Pack finished products • Clean production equipment and work areas • Mix adhesives and prepare metal to optics bonding • Bond optical surfaces together for substrates and laser protection filters • Set optical sub-assemblies to the correct orientation • Inspect Optics and Metal work to required specification • Follow the MRB process for non-conforming parts • Perform AQL inspection on some parts • Ensure history card and other documentation is completed Ideal candidates will have the following; • Experience of working in an assembly environment would be advantageous, ideally testing and inspecting work • Used to working to tight deadlines • Ability to follow instructions accurately • Good with problem solving and results orientated • Ability to work on own initiative • Good manual handling skills • Flexibility and openness to working overtime when required As well as a competitive salary and training, company benefits include; • Site bonus • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays • Company pension pays 6% • Company bonus scheme • Health Cash Plan • £500 bonus for friend referral scheme (Ts and Cs apply)
Responsibilities
The Assembly Operator will set up and operate production equipment, pack finished products, and bond optical surfaces together. They will also inspect optics and metal work to required specifications and ensure documentation is completed.
