Reporting to a Production Manager, the Assembly Supervisor is responsible for managing shop floor workflow, ensuring delivery schedules are met, providing guidance on production methods, procedures, processes, and assigning duties and priorities to Mechanical & Wiring departments. Lead by example in areas such as safety, ethical standards, attendance, intensity, sense of urgency, team philosophy, initiative, quality assurance, standard work, 5S+, product knowledge, positive attitude, interpersonal communication skills, and professional presence. Coaching, mentoring and role modeling: Managed department manpower and capacity planning. Provided on-going mentoring, coaching and development of direct reports to instill a team-focused and quality culture within the department. Maintained effective intra/inter departmental communications. Established, monitored, and sustained active communications between all levels of plant personnel to assure a positive work environment. Continuous improvement and quality mindset: Adhere to ISO9001:2015/EQS quality procedure/work instructions and actively participate in the quality improvement process. Developed and implemented cost-out, productivity improvement and strategic manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives. Supported HI5 metrics for key business drivers through learning and engagement throughout the assembly operation team. Workflow assignment and productivity: Meet daily production targets maintaining production flow, recording jobs completed and reporting issues preventing compliance. Analyzed department capacity restrictions and developed alternative plans to improve methods and layouts, as well as recommended new equipment expenditures to align capacity with plant objectives. EHS management: commitment to the safety of self and others identifying and reporting any hazard(s) in the workplace using the Hazard Identification Form; reporting any near misses, incidents, injuries, events resulting in lost time, or occupational diseases immediately; using equipment, materials, and machinery only as authorized, and for which training has been successfully completed; following procedures and wearing personal protective equipment as required. What will make you successful? The ideal candidate will have effective communication and people skills as they will need to work with others on the floor and work with other departments. With natural people leader instincts, you will be able to see both side of the problem and propose solutions to parties involved. Good problem solving, and experience along with the proven ability to use computers and various types of software are highly valued. Completion of a Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (2 year program). 3+ years manufacturing experience with leading the people. 1+ year experience interpreting electrical/mechanical drawings and 3D modeling. 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
