***** Our current facility is in Greensboro, NC, but will be relocating to Burlington, NC, in the next month or so. ***** PURPOSE: To oversee the assembly operations to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency are maintained. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and oversee the assembly operations, ensuring that products are produced efficiently and in accordance with established quality standards. Establish and refine quality standards to prevent errors and defect escapes. Communicate assembly related information across departments. Use the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to access and follow digital work instructions. Implement and maintain assembly procedures and adhere to work instructions to ensure consistency and quality of products. Lead a team of assembly workers, providing guidance, training, and ongoing coaching to improve performance and productivity. Monitor production schedules, allocate resources, and adjust work priorities as needed to meet customer demands. Ensure that kitting and parts management align with each project’s bill of materials. Collaborate with other departments such as engineering, procurement, and quality control to resolve any production issues and improve assembly processes. Conduct regular inspections to ensure that assembly equipment is in proper working condition and that the assembly area is clean and organized. Maintain accurate records of production data, including productivity, quality, and any issues encountered. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • Must be comfortable with a mix of PC and Microsoft Excel based work. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment. • Able to perform light physical labor (inventory, assembly, testing). • Prior experience leading a team preferred. • Knowledgeable of UL508a and NEC standards. SUPERVISORY DUTIES: • Responsible for conducting annual performance reviews on staff. • Recommend salary changes, and hiring and termination of staff. • Inform staff of changes in policies and procedures. • Responsible for training of staff. • Responsible for directing the daily work of staff. • Position must demonstrate positive leadership. This may be accomplished in a variety of ways including but not limited to professional behavior/appearance, work ethic and attendance. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Standing, Sitting & Walking: Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods. Climbing and Balancing: Ability to climb stairs and ladders and maintain balance on uneven surfaces. Stooping, Kneeling, and Crouching: Required to stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently. Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must have the ability to read computer screens and printed documents, and hear within normal ranges, with or without corrective devices. Operating Machinery: Experience and ability to operate machinery. Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, or noisy environments.
