Description Summary (Position Description): This position is responsible for assembling large compressor parts prepared by the pre-assembly process into fully built compressors. Reports To: Assembly Supervisor Status: Full time, Nonexempt Duties & Tasks: Follow all prescribed and standard SAFETY regulations including wearing PPE at all appropriate times. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to and improving upon 5S standards. Perform the operations of bearing pressing, stator pressing, mechanical assembly and wiring for in process compressors. Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Hand tools, workstations, etc. Ensure the use of only approved tools and processes during the assembly operation. Perform inspections of parts and workmanship to ensure the quality of finished compressors. Engage inn efforts with coworkers and management to continuously improve the assembly processes. Perform assembly operation for sub-assemblies (pistons, shaft seals, etc.) Additional duties as assigned by management. Work Environment: This job is performed in the assembly/production floor. This role requires the personnel to wear PPE of safety glasses and safety shoes at all times. Hearing protection is required in specific areas. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds. Acute awareness of detail to maintain high quality standards. Ability to read and recognize parts and part numbers and assemble them in the correct orientation/location/sequence as prescribed by work instructions and training. Requirements: Able to work overtime for preventative maintenance activities. Be to work on time and daily. Ability to effectively meet and communicate with colleagues, the public and vendors. Daily contact requires courtesy, discretion and sound judgment. Good written communication skills and effective organizational skills.
