Description Job Summary The Assembly Technician is responsible for performing all pipe, vessel, and structural assembly tasks required to complete process equipment units for client delivery. This position mechanically assembles equipment, performs pressure testing, and ensures all work meets engineering documentation, production schedule expectations, and GasTech Quality Requirements. The goal of this role is to support GasTech’s Manufacturing Department in becoming the most highly respected process equipment group in the industry and to consistently provide exceptional quality to the clients we serve. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Piping, Vessel, and Structural Assembly Fit-up and assemble all piping spools. Assemble vessel internals and install or trial-fit external accessories. Cut and prepare pipe and structural components as required. Testing and Quality Control Perform hydrostatic pressure testing. Conduct pneumatic testing when required. Ensure all assembled equipment meets GasTech quality standards. Maintain strong knowledge of valves, instruments, fittings, and related components. Documentation and Technical Skills Read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs. Understand and follow all applicable quality requirements. Make accurate and timely decisions in accordance with project needs. Production Support and Logistics Prepare equipment for shipment. Load and unload equipment for transport as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment. Work Ethic and Team Contribution Work safely and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. Demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance. Maintain a positive and cooperative attitude. When applicable, assist in leading others and planning ahead to support workflow. Performance Expectations Complete tasks efficiently and with a high level of accuracy. Demonstrate consistent professionalism, safety awareness, and teamwork. Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school diploma or GED is required. Strong proficiency in pipe and structural assembly within pressure piping and process vessel manufacturing. Solid mechanical and piping aptitude with experience appropriate to the role. Vocational welding background is preferred. Familiarity with ASME/ANSI Piping Codes is preferred. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. Working knowledge of shop processes, materials, shop equipment, and assembly tools is highly encouraged. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution abilities.
