Description We are seeking a hands-on Assembly Technician to build and assemble heavy-duty conveyor systems and material handling equipment. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication and assembly environment. Key Responsibilities Assemble heavy-duty conveyor systems, including frames, rollers, bearings, drives, and components Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions Install shafts, sprockets, chains, gearboxes, and motors Perform alignment and fit-up of mechanical components Work closely with Engineering to support builds, troubleshoot assembly issues, and perform in-house shop setups Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and efficiently Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, squares, etc.) Assist with troubleshooting and correcting assembly issues Work with welders and fabricators to ensure proper fit and function Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Meet production schedules and deadlines Requirements 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience (conveyor or heavy equipment preferred) Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Great communication skills and ability to work effectively with Engineering and shop personnel Experience with: Bearings, rollers, and shafts Chain drives and sprockets Gearboxes and motors Ability to use standard shop tools and measuring equipment Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on feet for extended periods Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Preferred Qualifications Experience with conveyor systems or material handling equipment Basic welding or fabrication knowledge Experience with rigging and equipment movement Forklift or overhead crane experience Work Environment Shop environment with heavy steel components Exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment PPE required (safety glasses, steel toe boots, etc.)
