POSITION OVERVIEW

The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for assembling and testing electromechanical products used in brushless DC motor applications. This role involves working with production hardware and subassemblies in accordance with mechanical drawings, work instructions, routings, and specifications. Key tasks include soldering, winding, bonding, crimping, assembly, and hardware identification before final inspection. The technician will also maintain proper documentation of work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical/technical aptitude with the ability to conduct functional tests.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprint drawings.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow procedures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and basic PC skills.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, stand for extended periods, sit, walk, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and crouch.
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for reaching and handling.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and test products in compliance with technical specifications, work instructions, and regulatory requirements, including mil-specs.
  • Perform soldering, crimping, and assembly of critical electronic systems.
  • Read and interpret technical documents (schematics, drawings, procedures) and use measuring devices to confirm tooling/fixturing dimensions.
  • Set up and operate tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches, dynamometers, and load cells.
  • Conduct functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and perform rework as needed with limited supervision.
  • Record results and maintain accurate parts counts and job documentation.
  • Support lean improvement initiatives and suggest process improvements.
  • Assist in packaging hardware per ESD procedures and maintain tools in clean working condition.
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals while using appropriate PPE.
  • Report equipment requiring repair and identify routing discrepancies for supervisor review.
  • Participate in team meetings, improvement programs, and company initiatives.
