Description POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the operation of production equipment to produce quality products meeting customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform manual drilling operations using hand drills, drill presses, and related tools. Assemble steel components according to work instructions, blueprints, or job travelers. Measure and verify hole locations, sizes, and part alignment using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges, etc.). Deburr, clean, and prepare parts for next operations. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Communicate production issues, defects, or equipment concerns to supervision. Meet production and quality goals while maintaining safe work practices. Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs. Be able to operate air powered tooling EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school graduate or equivalent training or work experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to safely operate hand tools and basic shop equipment. Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. Frequent use of hands for gripping, drilling, and assembly tasks. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Conform to all Wayne Metals, LLC environmental policies, programs and procedures. Conform to all State of Indiana laws and regulations. Report any environmental concerns to Supervisor, Environmental Management Representative, or the Plant manager.
