ABOUT YOU

We are seeking highly skilled Assessment and Risk Officers who bring an analytical and risked-based mindset.

The preferred candidates will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in information gathering and analysis, preferable in a regulatory environment.
  • Ability to assess, prioritise and identify risk to present clear ad actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on building positive relationships with stakeholders, and a professional and respectful approach to communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to engage service providers.
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, and leverage technology to improve performance and effectiveness.
  • Additionally for the role relating to fees, skills and/or experience in financial management, accounting, or financial analysis is highly desirable.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Assessment and Risk officer, your role is critical in safeguarding children’s safety and support service quality in early childhood education and care sector (ECEC) through the assessment, approval and amendment of ECEC service applications and notifications in accordance with policy and regulatory provisions.
One of the roles will focus on managing the collection of annual service fees under the Children (Education and Care Services) National Law (NSW), including handling refunds, waivers, and amendments. This seasonal function will shift to assessing approvals and amendments of ECEC applications during the remainder of the year.
