Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Rewarding opportunity to be a part of a team that supports schools and students in providing essential services and support. The role will:

  • Identify, appraise and advise on child protection issues and response options to facilitate appropriate referral pathways for students and/or families at risk of harm or in need of assistance.
  • Some roles may require attendance at schools or conferences to present professional learning to school staff.
  • Undertake assessments, provide advice in areas of child protection and wellbeing to schools
  • Maintain accurate records of reports received via the Child Wellbeing Units electronic reporting system
  • Provide appropriate referral pathways for students and their families in response to reports received into the Contact Centre, via phone or electronic reporting.
  • Provide advice to the Child Wellbeing Units management on critical issues
  • Work with management, customers, community partners and other government organisations to improve service delivery.

This role works within an inbound contact centre and it functions on a roster basis. Successful candidates need to be comfortable working in a contact centre environment. The Child Wellbeing Unit hours of operation are from 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check)
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
