QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Current Driver Licence and willingness to drive as required by role
  • Administration qualifications desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in office administration Skills in people management, negotiation and conflict management
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, word, outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to interact and motivate inmates
  • Willing to undertake training in Industry specific computer-based programs.
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

Corrective Services NSW is seeking a proactive and dedicated Assessment and Planning Officer at the Metropolitan Remand & Reception Centre, Silverwater.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of education and employment plans for offenders.
Coordinate the delivery of education services and programs within a correctional centre by the external education service provider to achieve the highest levels of program delivery in accordance with departmental policy, procedures and standards to contribute to the reduction of re-offending and increased community safety.
Working autonomously with a diverse range of people in a custodial setting, you will be supported by a statewide Education team.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of appropriate education and vocational training programs for offenders.
  • Conduct assessments and planning activities to inform the development of offender education and employment plans.
  • Contribute to offender case management by providing regular reports on inmate learning progress and achievement and by participating in a range of case management activities.
  • Participate in centre-based activities to support the delivery of offender education and vocational training programs.
  • Maintain related administrative duties including recording of offender participation, progress and achievement in accordance with established systems and processes.
  • Maintain ethical practices in a dynamic and challenging environment.
