The Intake Facilitator provides screening, triage, assessments for urgency/risk, and coordinates case assignments. The position facilitates crisis response and short-term support for services to clients presenting with a variety of mental health and addictions issues. The Intake Facilitator provides consultation to Community Agencies and Programs regarding services available in Mental Health and Addiction Services. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Experience working with mental health and addictions clients Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Bachelor of Social Sciences is acceptable Competencies Basic - Assessment skills Advanced - Organizational skills Intermediate - Time management skills Basic - Crisis management skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Communication skills Intermediate - Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs Knowledge of community programs/services Knowledge in addiction issues and mental health disorders Knowledge of normal and abnormal development Ability to work flexible hours Ability to assess and treat clients as a part of the interdisciplinary MHAS team Knowledge of human growth, development and human behavior.
