The Intake Facilitator provides screening, triage, assessments for urgency/risk, and coordinates case assignments. The position facilitates crisis response and short-term support for services to clients presenting with a variety of mental health and addictions issues. The Intake Facilitator provides consultation to Community Agencies and Programs regarding services available in Mental Health and Addiction Services. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Experience working with mental health and addictions clients Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable Bachelor of Social Sciences is acceptable Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable Bachelor of Addictions Counseling is acceptable Bachelor of Nursing is acceptable Competencies Advanced - Communication skills Intermediate - Time management skills Intermediate - Computer skills Basic - Crisis management skills Advanced - Organizational skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Basic - Assessment skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures Ability to triage cases Knowledge in appropriate systems theory and interventions Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Ability to act professionally, ethically and provide sound judgement Knowledge of normal and abnormal development Knowledge of community programs/services Ability to work flexible hours Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced work environment with complex cases Ability to assess and treat clients as a part of the interdisciplinary MHAS team Knowledge in legal requirements set forth by provincial regulatory bodies Knowledge of human growth, development and human behavior.
