Job Title: Assessor Mechanical Engineering
Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD
Department: NSG Construction & Engineering
Reporting to: Associate Director of Apprenticeships
Salary: Up to £34,225 per annum
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays
Contractual hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks
Basis: Full time, Permanent
Pension: NEST Pension

We are seeking a committed and experienced Assessor to join our team, supporting learners across a range of vocational programmes, including full Apprenticeship Standards. This is a pivotal role focused on guiding learners through their training journey, ensuring they achieve their qualifications and develop the skills needed for long-term success.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Develop, manage and maintain good relationships with external partners, local employers and appropriate agencies to recruit learners.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to learners and employers to promote learning and timely achievement of the agreed learning aims and SMART objectives.
  • Assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours, and the delivery and assessment of Functional Skills and competencies within apprenticeship standards.
  • Maintain a minimum caseload of learners. Assist them to achieve qualifications and the Apprenticeship Standard, and prepare them for End Point Assessment.
  • Support commercial training and upskilling through NVQs and adhoc courses.
  • Develop business with existing employers and identifying new opportunities.
  • Work in a team to plan and deliver a structured scheme of work and develop lesson plans that meet the learning needs of learners and the delivery and assessment of knowledge, skills and behaviours.
