CANDIDATE PROFILE: SKILLS AND QUALITIES FOR EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION ASSESSOR & TUTORING

  • Hold an appropriate assessor qualification (e.g., CAVA, D32/D33, A1, or equivalent).
  • Possess a teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.
  • Relevant occupational experience in Early Years and/or as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Excellent organisation, administration, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support a diverse learner cohort.
  • Proficient IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office and virtual learning platforms.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE FOR EARLY YEARS/TA ASSESSOR/TUTORS

  • Relevant Assessor qualification (CAVA/A1 or equivalent).
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Recent occupational experience within Early Years or TA setting.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport (role may require site visits).

ROLE OVERVIEW: ASSESSOR/TUTOR EARLY YEARS/TA – EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assessor/Tutor to join our established team. This is a pivotal role supporting learners undertaking qualifications in Early Years and Teaching Assisting, ensuring they gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed. You will deliver engaging learning sessions, provide constructive feedback, and assess knowledge and competence across work-based learning programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: EARLY YEARS EDUCATION ASSESSMENT AND TUTORING

  • Support a caseload of learners across Early Years and Teaching Assistant qualifications, guiding their professional development journey.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess teaching, learning, and assessment activities in line with awarding organisation requirements.
  • Provide personalised support and feedback, enabling learners to achieve their apprenticeship standards and qualifications.
  • Carry out workplace observations, assessments, and progress reviews with accuracy, fairness, and integrity.
  • Uphold high standards of safeguarding, well-being, and inclusion for all learners in line with organisational and legislative expectations.
  • Accurately maintain learner progress records, reporting on achievement and providing updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote positive behaviour, equal opportunities, and diversity throughout all learning activities.
