    We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Asset Engineer to provide support for the Rangitīkei Roading Maintenance contract. In this pivotal role, you will lead and oversee critical asset management functions, supporting both operational and strategic asset planning across key infrastructure projects. As the Asset Engineer, you will ensure that effective application of engineering processes and deliverables related to asset management, guaranteeing compliance with company and contract standards, including the Knowledge Hub

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the integration of asset management principles within contract teams, providing technical leadership and guidance to enhance asset performance, lifecycle management, and service delivery
  • Facilitate the development and execution of asset management strategies that maximise operational efficiency and meet client objectives
  • Continuously assess and improve asset management systems and processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and the long-term objectives of the contract
  • Provide expert input into the tendering process, particularly for estimates, quantities, and attributes that reflect realistic asset engineering advancements
  • Identify opportunities to improve network performance and reduce risks through the continuous review of treatment efficacy and performance dataLead and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols across all asset management processes, ensuring minimal risk and fostering a proactive safety culture

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • Preferably a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent extensive industry experience including asset management
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex asset management systems, with a deep understanding of infrastructure asset lifecycle management, maintenance strategies, and renewal planning
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, asset modelling, and decision making frameworks, with experience in Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) and condition assessment
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical issues in a clear and impactful manner to a wide range of stakeholdersA collaborative and strategic mindset, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive asset management innovation
