THE CANDIDATE: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
2+ years’ experience in water utility engineering, asset management, or maintenance planning.
Knowledge of water distribution systems, treatment plants, and Irish Water standards.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel, GIS systems, and ideally AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE.

As an Asset Engineer (Water Networks), you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimising the performance of water infrastructure assets, including water mains, pumping stations, and treatment facilities. This role focuses on asset performance analysis, preventive maintenance planning, and supporting operational teams to ensure compliance with Irish Water standards and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the management and optimisation of water network assets, including pipelines, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
Monitor and analyse asset performance, identifying potential risks, leaks, or areas requiring intervention.
Plan and assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities, minimising service interruptions.
Conduct field inspections, asset condition assessments, and surveys, feeding data into the asset management system.
Maintain and update water asset records, GIS mapping tools, and reporting dashboards in line with Irish Water requirements.
Prepare technical reports, maintenance plans, and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with Site Engineers, Survey Teams, and Operations Staff to implement proactive asset management strategies.
Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
