DESCRIPTION

Could you be our next Asset Engineer? The successful candidate will assist with long term strategic asset management solutions for the transmission, distribution and production networks, to produce effective plans to maximise capital investment made in plant and cables and ensure appropriate revenue expenditure.
This role will provide support to the senior engineers by carrying out data mining, studies, document review and production, etc. This will assist in the development of the asset management system, with an overall aim to achieve accreditation to ISO55000 (the recognised international standard for asset management).
This role will enable the organisation to procure and manage assets in proactive manner including the following:
Optimum maintenance regimes
Total life costs
Asset performance
End of life modelling
This will enable maximisation of the existing assets, whilst identifying potential issues and thus targeting and optimising expenditure associated with the maintenance and replacement. This will also enable improvement in the specification of new plant & equipment.
This post will assist in facilitating the company’s vision by allowing the maximisation of the current and future capital investment in our assets, thus providing access to reliable, low cost, zero carbon energy to our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Research and advise strategic asset management solutions for the distribution and transmission networks. Using an integrated approach, establish, review and maintain effective asset management plans, to maximise capital investments and effective revenue expenditure, to provide optimised solutions to relevant standards.
  • Ensure that all team members are fully engaged, including, developing suitable training programmes and monitoring progress. Provision of appropriate coaching and mentoring to engineers where required.
  • Research and work collaboratively with the Senior Asset Management Engineers and Asset Manager as well as other relevant external and internal service providers and experts in the relevant disciplines / fields, ensuring that there is a comprehensive understanding of the Business needs both presently and in the future and that research knowledge is applied and developed where relevant to enhance engineering and business practice.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate professional relationship with relevant networks of support and personal development (CPD)
  • Where appropriate, assist in the collaborative working on large Distribution, Production and Transmission projects, providing assistance for the Project Engineers and liaising with the Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager and Supply Manager to enable that the Projects meet the standards set out in the project specification.
  • Influence, appoint and advise on Contractors working on Operational activities, ensuring compliance to JE standards and adherence to contracts via comprehensive monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Assist in the development of Energy Division Procedures associated with Asset Management , ensuring that appropriate formal procedures are produced, understood and practiced across Energy Division
  • Ensure appropriate compliance with HS&E, Company procedures, Distribution Safety Rules, Generation Safety Rules and Industry best practice, assisting with regular audits to demonstrate compliance.
