JOB DESCRIPTION

A passion or demonstrated interest in markets/economics/current events is critical to success: The Intern will support the team with some or all of the following activities .

  • Work with one of the following team s within TDAM - Fundamental Equitie s Research , Fixed Income or Asset Liability Management , Asset Allocation, Alternatives , or Investment Risk Managemen t .
  • Build and maintain analytics to help facilitate portfolio decision making, data analysis or financial analysis to help understand and recommend investments or to better understand the macro-economic environment
  • Help run and support mission critical reporting used by the portfolio managers and attend and participate in team meetings and investment discussions.
  • Validate data to ensure the integrity of the data and information
  • Support projects focused on the ongoing improvement of our processes
  • Undertake projects touching on strategy, marketing, business and product development, portfolio management, finance, risk, governance, client service, operations and trading

SKILLS

  • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail
  • Good foundation in business acumen, capital markets, problem solving skills and analytical capabilities
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Highly motivated individual with the willingness and flexibility to take on different initiatives
  • Ability to operate within specialty software programs ( e.g. Bloomberg, Factset , Thomson Reuters or Capital IQ etc . )
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across teams to research fulsome solutions
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
