Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and optimization of Dublin Airport’s Medium Voltage (MV) electrical infrastructure. This includes ensuring safety, reliability, compliance, and efficiency of MV systems to support uninterrupted airport operations. The role is critical for managing current and future infrastructure demands, supporting sustainability initiatives, and fostering operational resilience.
The role is pivotal in ensuring the Dublin Airport’s utility infrastructure is resilient, efficient and aligned with strategic goals. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on operational continuity and sustainability while addressing the challenges of infrastructure expansion and complexity.
Responsibilities

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in utility infrastructure management, with a focus on MV systems.
• In-depth knowledge of MV electrical distribution networks, including protection systems, transformers, and switchgear.
• Professional certification in energy management (e.g., CEM) or related field is preferred.
• Experience with renewable energy systems (solar, battery storage) and microgrid technology is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, power monitoring tools, and related technologies.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Strong technical knowledge of MV electrical systems, SCADA operations, and utility infrastructure.
• Strong ability to lead and mentor teams, manage contractors, and engage with stakeholders.
• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex MV systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budgets.
• Proven experience in project management and oversight of infrastructure projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with ISO 50001 standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in energy management and demand-side optimization techniques.
• Proficient in using electrical design software, SCADA systems, and asset management platforms.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Relevant MV systems certifications (e.g., IEC/IEEE standards compliance, NEBOSH, or equivalent safety certifications).
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is desirable.
