Description

USALCO, LLC is a leading provider of aluminum-based component products used in water treatment, pulp and paper manufacturing, the making of catalysts for oil refining, the housing market and other sectors. EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics and Supply Chain management with 3-5-years experience including the supervision of employees or Business Degree with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • 20 plus years of progressive Logistics experience including driving, dispatch and fleet management will be considered without the required degree.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Fleet Management
  • Experience with Trimble TMW suites including TMS and TMT
  • Bulk Delivery with at least 3-5 years in Hazardous Material Transportation
  • Prior Experience with Electronic logs required
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools including Lean, 5S, Six Sigma preferred.
  • Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Responsibilities

ROLES AND RESPONSIBITIES:

  • Provide overall leadership and ownership to continuously improve the transportation/logistics function throughout USALCO plant operations.
  • Responsible for management of all USALCO Transportation Assets including IT Equipment, Tractor, and Trailer assets.
  • Responsible for managing utilization and developing a long term plan for asset utilization and procurement of assets. Develop KPI metrics to track cost and utilization of assets.
  • Responsible for oversight of all maintenance and DOT compliance of equipment and making sure that all data is maintained in TMS system.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the transportation function including employee supervision, logistics, DOT regulatory compliance, legal and economical operation and training

Key items:

  • Provide dispatch/customer service leadership on all shipments.
  • Ensure driver compliance with all DOT standards for example hour of service regulations, qualification requirements and pre/post trip inspection reports. Retain per documented procedures.
  • Manage and Oversee fuel program with Comdata.
  • Manage all personnel; contracted and company employed drivers. Provide/ensure all necessary training is completed at the required intervals.
  • Increase quality, profitability, efficiency and productivity by continuously improving technology, personnel training and process improvement.
  • Seek out cost savings through continuous improvement activities.
  • Strive to consistently meet/exceed our customer service standards by ensuring prompt and accurate completion of service requests and by researching and resolving service issues and implementing long term solutions.
  • Communicate and enforce facility safety, environmental compliance and DOT regulatory requirements.
  • Recruit, manage and develop drivers using approved processes for interviewing, hiring, motivating, training and performance evaluations.
  • Must understand other team members roles and be prepared to step-in and perform their duties during vacations and holidays.
  • Must be able to work overtime, off shift and weekends as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of business goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Ability to:

  • Travel to plant locations throughout the US
  • Routinely traverse the ~20-acre site to various buildings
  • Be flexible with work hours to meet demands of transportation.
  • Travel is less than 40 percent per year.
