Our role in Vattenfall is to maximize the value of the overall portfolio by optimizing and dispatching, hedging, and sourcing for Vattenfall's sales and generation volumes. We serve as Vattenfall’s single access to energy commodity markets and trade electricity, emissions, fuels, freight, and renewable certificates. In Business Unit (BU) Assets we maximise the value of Vattenfall and 3rd-party assets through optimal planning, bidding and dispatching of conventional, renewable and decentral assets. In addition, we are responsible for the development and execution of the hedging strategy for the overall exposure of Vattenfall. To support the ongoing transformation of Vattenfall’s portfolio in the light of the shifts of the whole energy system, our focus lies on increasing value creation and efficiency, driving the adoption of advanced analytics, automation and developing our capabilities to enable the optimization and steering of new asset types. Job Description We are looking for an Asset Optimization Manager – Intraday to join our Dispatch Continental department in Hamburg. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic 24/7 shift team responsible for optimizing the dispatch of our renewable assets, in particular wind, solar and pump storage assets, batteries and conventional assets for district heating. You’ll play a key role in the energy transition by helping us increase efficiency, adopt advanced analytics, and support the integration of decentralized energy systems. What You’ll Do Operate in a 24/7 shift setup to support intraday optimization of our asset portfolio. Maximize portfolio value through real-time decision-making based on market prices and asset availability. Ensure reliable delivery of ancillary services and participate in intraday auctions. Collaborate on the development of automation tools, algorithms, and IT systems in an agile environment. Monitor data flows and quality, and contribute to continuous process improvement. Coordinate with power plant teams on operational status and maintenance planning. Decide on how we run our assets. Willingness to work in a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in English and German; Dutch is a bonus.
