Purpose of the Role BGIS is introducing a newly created Asset Planner role to support a recently awarded Victorian government services portfolio. This position plays an important part in shaping long-term asset outcomes by supporting proactive asset planning, lifecycle modelling, condition analysis, and evidence-based investment decisions. Working collaboratively with Facilities Managers, Operations teams, and technical specialists, you will help ensure asset data is accurate, meaningful, and used to support safe, reliable, and well-planned properties across the portfolio. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and collaborative, with a genuine interest in using data to improve asset health, governance, and long-term planning. Key Responsibilities Plan and schedule asset condition audits in line with agreed programs Review asset condition data, risk ratings, lifecycle forecasts, and performance trends Develop asset renewal recommendations, prioritisation models, and investment options Support the preparation of long-term asset plans and capital works programs Maintain asset data accuracy across BGIS Connect, SPM Assets, and supporting systems Validate and quality-check data from condition assessments Identify data gaps, anomalies, and inconsistencies, recommending corrective actions Collaborate with Facilities and Operations teams to clarify asset performance issues Prepare reports, dashboards, and portfolio insights for governance and planning forums Use digital tools and analytics to support continuous improvement and lifecycle optimisation Education, Experience & Skills Essential: Qualifications in engineering, asset management, facilities management, data analysis, or a related discipline Strong analytical capability and confidence interpreting technical and asset data Experience using asset management systems or lifecycle planning tools High proficiency with digital systems and data-driven insights Collaborative communication style and comfort working with diverse stakeholders Desirable: Experience supporting government property portfolios or public infrastructure Exposure to condition assessments, predictive maintenance, or asset modelling Familiarity with asset governance frameworks such as AMAF Workplace Flexibility This role is based in our Melbourne CBD office, close to public transport, with a hybrid working arrangement (3 days office / 2 days WFH).
