Onsite- West Hartford, CT

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Asset Recovery Specialist will be responsible for locating individuals, businesses, and financed heavy equipment associated with overdue or defaulted accounts. This position requires advanced investigative skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with the equipment finance industry, including knowledge of heavy equipment brands, models, and typical operating environments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in skip tracing, repossession, or investigative research (preferably within equipment finance or related industries).
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment types, manufacturers, and usage locations.
  • Proficiency in skip tracing tools, investigative databases, and online sources.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of applicable state and federal laws governing debt collection and asset recovery.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with lien searches, UCC filings, and equipment title/registration processes.
  • Experience collaborating with repossession companies, auction houses, and law enforcement.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate and locate delinquent customers, businesses, and missing collateral through online research, public records, and other investigative methods.
  • Identify and confirm the location of financed heavy equipment.
  • Utilize skip tracing software, GPS technology, and industry contacts to track assets and individuals.
  • Deliver accurate information externally to asset repossession agents to facilitate the collateral recovery process in a timely manner.
  • Co-operate effectively internally and with other Departments (i.e., Collections, Legal, Finance, Credit and Originations) to ensure process efficiency and information sharing.
  • Provide recommendations to improve tracing processes and recovery efficiency.
