Goldman Sachs Asset Management has been providing discretionary investment advisory services since 1988 and has investment professionals in all major financial centers around the world. AM Reconciliation Technology builds and supports book reconciliation platforms (such as internal books versus street-side books). We are at the start of a multi-year transformatory program to build a new-age reconciliation platform that will leverage Cloud and AI for scale and business efficiency. Day to Day Responsibilities As a software developer, you will * Drive the design of critical components in the technology stack as well as oversee and implement new features, focusing on code quality, automation and testability. * Collaborate with a global cross functional team in building customer-centric products * Contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap and contribute to building an engineering culture within our global team. * Design flows and systems using cloud and on-prem technologies to ensure performance, longevity, and scalability of infrastructure. * Contribute to SDLC documentation and guidance including templates, patterns, and controls. * Perform code reviews and system design reviews and establish code quality standards and software best practices for a distributed systems architecture. * Mentor and help develop more junior technical talents. * Communicate with leadership, engineers, and business teams. We are looking for someone with lots of energy that enjoys engineering challenges and has a passion to deliver high quality technology solutions and can operate in a highly fluid, rapidly changing environment. Basic Qualifications * Strong proficiency in Java * Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. * Experience with design and implementation of high throughput, fault-tolerant distributed systems. * Experience in working with databases – NoSQL and/or Relational * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control * Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills, with attention to details. * Comfort with Agile operating models * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Culture of excellence and collaboration * Energetic, self-directed, and self-motivated * Strong work ethic, a sense of ownership and urgency Preferred Qualifications * Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK * Hands-on experience with AWS services * Experience working with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies * Experience working with clients / users a plus Goldman Sachs Engineering Culture At Goldman Sachs, our Engineers don’t just make things – we make things possible.
