The Asset & Wealth Management Strategic Transformation Office is the entity tasked with overseeing comprehensive large-scale transformations. Our primary objectives are to enhance scalability, drive revenue growth, improve client experience, and elevate controls to optimize our operating platform. This group comprises of four critical functions, including (1) Product Management & Design, (2) Change Management, (3) Regulatory Management, and (4) Monitoring & Testing. The Product Management & Design team is looking for a Product Manager within the Portfolio Servicing Platform team, where you will support the product vision and oversee the development, enhancement, and management of the portfolio servicing platform for the global Asset Management business. The portfolio servicing platform encompasses vital functions and core platforms that are responsible for set up and accuracy of books and records, trading readiness, post trade lifecycle management, payments and several other critical capabilities required to enhance operational efficiency, manage risks effectively, and drive investment decisions. This role works collaboratively with the leadership across the Investment teams, Sales & Distribution, Operations and Technology organizations to deliver a robust and comprehensive strategy ensuring competitive advantage and addressing internal stakeholders and client needs. This product manager will engage with multiple stakeholders to understand the spectrum of problems and challenges to be solved. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of investment products, investment operations and portfolio accounting within the financial services industry, preferably for the asset management business. We are looking for a talented and passionate Product Manager who thrives in an extremely entrepreneurial, fast paced environment. This is a high visibility role, interfacing with business leaders and will require creativity and drive to deliver on the ambitious goals and roadmap. Job Summary & Responsibilities * Develop the product strategy and roadmap based on a deep understanding of business drivers, competition, and stakeholder needs. * Own the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, including management of product development, feature prioritization, release planning, and ongoing product maintenance. * Break down complex problems and processes into feature components that drive product development and platform extensibility. * Define, document, and prioritize product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide the development process and ensure clear communication between stakeholders. * Partner with a team of product managers to identify cross-product opportunities and to ensure all problems considered within the context of the target state product architecture. * Design and monitor business metrics related to product usage, adoption, and client satisfaction, and establish a feedback loop informing strategic and prioritization-related decisions. Basic Qualifications: * Proven experience (7+ years) in product management within the financial services industry, specifically within asset management or operational platforms. * Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields is preferred. * Prior experience/understanding of financial instruments and products * Prior experience/understanding of Investment Trade Lifecyle across front, middle, and back-office functions (ideally from an Asset Management perspective) * Experience with all stages of the development lifecycle: inception, analysis, design, review, testing, and deployment leveraging agile development methodologies and tools. * Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions and derive actionable insights from market and usage data. * Proficiency in collaborating with technical teams, understanding software architecture, and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. * Demonstrated success in working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering software solutions on schedule and within budget. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working directly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. * Ability to influence cross-functional teams, from presenting conceptual ideas to execution. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and communicate within and outside the organization. * Ability to work and deliver results independently, a self-starter with an ability to get in the weeds where necessary. * Leading the definition of requirements and test cases for Engineering and QA. * Ability to partner and drive results with third party vendors. * Solving business solutions at scale with technology. * Contribute toward GSAM’s AI-enabled future by identifying where workflow improvements can be made enhancing our end-user experience, transparency, and controls.
