DESCRIPTION:

Our Finance Team plays a critical role in supporting our mission by delivering excellent financial management and accounting services. We’re a small, agile team and we’re looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join us.
This is a full-time role working from home in the Newcastle/ Lake Macquarie region.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll support the Finance Team with a range of accounting tasks. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is keen to grow their skills across a variety of finance functions.
Bamara is targeting recently graduated or undergraduate finance students who are ready to put their tertiary education into practice.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

About You

You’re either studying or have completed a degree in Business, Commerce, or Accounting, and bring:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management
  • Great communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office

. Accounting software experience

  • A commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • WWCC National Police Clearance and NDIS workers clearance prior to commencement
Responsibilities
  • Online banking, account transfers, BPay payments
  • Intercompany transactions, payments and reconciliations
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • General ledger reconciliations and account investigations
  • Preparation of ATO Monthly IAS and quarterly BAS
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Provide support to the Finance Manager
  • Maintaining accurate electronic filing systems
  • Supporting cross-functional training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with Bamara policies and statutory obligations
