Description

Custom Built New Homes & Renovations is one of South Australia's leading privately owned home builders and residential property developers, specialising in Custom one-off projects across the Metropolitan region.

We are seeking a friendly, highly organised and proactive Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our high performing team. This role suits someone with strong practical bookkeeping experience who can confidently manage accounts up to trial balance across multiple entities. We need someone who understands the general ledger, reconciliations and how transactions flow through the accounts and who can identify and resolve discrepancies independently.

This is a full-time office based role, working Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.00pm, located in North Plympton.

Best suited to a candidate who is a self-motivated all-rounder who has impeccable attention to detail and amazing organisational skills, are a quick learner with a positive can-do attitude with a high quality work ethic.

Proficient software skills are essential together with excellent communication skills and a friendly and pleasant manner. Honesty and a willingness to adapt to change with the business as it evolves are a must.


Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: entering invoices, managing payments and following up on outstanding accounts.
  • Payroll Administration
  • Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and matched.
  • Maintaining Accurate Financial Records: ensuring compliance with accounting standards across multiple entities.
  • Managing Client Queries
  • Supporting & performing Monthly, Quarterly and Year-End Processes
  • Statutory Requirements
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation issues
  • Support the rest of the team when required


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous hands-on experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping principles and procedures
  • Ability to prepare accounts to trial balance
  • Experience working with multiple companies/entities
  • Impeccable attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Proficiency in using XERO, Excel and preferably DATABUILD
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
