Our finance team is integral to the daily operations of the business, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join us. IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in accounting or management accounts (even if you’re early in your career)
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable manipulating financial data
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and efficiently
• A team player with strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams like Sales and Operations
• Eager to learn and grow in the accounting field, with a desire for career progression

THE ROLE

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of key financial tasks, including but not limited to:

• Management Accounts: Assisting in the preparation of management accounts from Trial Balance on a monthly basis.
• Sales Ledger: Managing the sales ledger, including raising invoices, posting cash, and credit control on a daily basis.
• Purchase Ledger: Handling purchase ledger duties such as matching, batching, coding invoices, raising payments, and liaising with suppliers daily.
• Sales Contracts: Processing new sales contracts and ensuring they are authorised and handed over to the delivery team.
• Accruals & Prepayments: Monthly processing of accruals and prepayments.
• VAT Returns: Assisting in preparing monthly VAT returns and ensuring compliance.
• Bank Reconciliations & Cash Posting: Daily management of bank reconciliations and cash posting.
• KPI Reporting: Preparing bi-daily sales and operational KPI metrics to ensure business performance tracking.
• Year-End Audit: Assisting with the preparation of year-end audit schedules and documentation.
