About the role
Based in Tullamarine, you will work alongside the corporate team and be responsible for the day-to-day finance activity and accounting processing across a family-owned group of companies. The group is a leading construction services provider specialising in concept design, feasibility proposals, complete structural design and construction of a range of products, including architectural panel systems and cladding systems.
Key responsibilities
- Perform daily Accounts Payable activities, including matching supplier invoices with purchase orders, checking pricing and quantities, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring invoices are correctly coded and allocated.
- Perform company credit card reconciliations by matching receipts and supporting documentation to transactions, following up outstanding receipts, and ensuring expenses are correctly coded and allocated.
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies or unreconciled transactions.
- Assist with month-end accounting processes, including account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and maintaining accurate supporting schedules.
- Assist with cash-flow management and maintain a 12-month rolling cash-flow forecast, including a one-month detailed/firm forecast, to provide management with a clear understanding of the company's current and expected cash position.
- Liaise with Project Managers and relevant project personnel to obtain information relating to progress claims, expected receipts, supplier payments, project commitments, and upcoming expenditure to support accurate cash-flow forecasting.
- Support inventory and manufacturing accounting processes, including stocktakes, inventory valuation, inventory movements, and reconciliation of physical stock to accounting records.
- Maintain accurate records of goods received, goods issued, transfers, wastage, and other inventory movements, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
- Perform other accounting, finance, and administrative duties as reasonably directed by the Accountant or management.
About you
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or accounts administration role.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a methodical approach to financial information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Must be based locally to Tullamarine and available to work full-time on-site.
- Experience with MYOB software, particularly MYOB Advanced/Acumatica.
- Experience in the construction, façade or manufacturing industries.
- Exposure to inventory management, stocktakes, manufacturing accounting, or inventory controls.
- Experience assisting with cash-flow forecasting and management reporting.
