Description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Assist with month-end, year-end close processes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting.
  • Support inventory and manufacturing accounting, including stock takes, inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Assist with the preparation of BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, GST, FBT, and other statutory reporting.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage and support the team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll, including invoicing, reconciliations, payment processing, and account maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory obligations, company policies, and internal controls, and support internal and external audits.
  • Process transactions and prepare reports within the ERP system while identifying opportunities to improve finance systems, processes, and automation.
  • Prepare financial analysis and management reports to support business performance, operational decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • CPA qualified (or working towards) a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years' experience combined in Accounts Receivable, Assistant Accounting, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, financial reporting, and end-to-end AR processes.
  • Proficient in Advanced Excel and accounting software (SAP B1 preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in credit insurance, forecasting, FMCG advantageous.
  • Positive, adaptable, and proactive attitude.
