About this opportunity:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as an Assistant Accountant.

In this role, you will learn about and be responsible for:

  • Assisting in Management Accountant to mentor accounts officers and trainees.
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying and comparing SwiftPOS and Purchase Plus reports to Momentus entries.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts, corporate credit cards via Concur
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation for trade debtor, trade creditors, prepayment and clearing accounts etc.
  • Maintain all accounting sub-ledgers.
  • Assisting with month-end process and journal entries to ensure compliance with deadlines.
  • Providing timely and accurate payment and account standing information.
  • Report any workplace hazards to your Health and Safety Committee representative and take a consultative role to assist in achieving a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Manage the accounts receivable and payable functions, promoting a culture of inclusion, consistency and CSI to help meet the goals of ICC Sydney.
  • Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an accounting or business discipline
  • Qualified accountant (CPA or CA), or working towards CA/CPA qualification
  • 2 years recent experience in a similar accounting role, ideally in hospitality sector.
  • Must be experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerised finance software applications and Microsoft Excel.
  • High standard of documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal external assistance.
