ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a highly experienced and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as an Assistant Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of key financial processes.

In this role, you will learn about and be responsible for:

  • Performing month-end process and journal entries is a critical requirement to ensure compliance with deadlines. Prior experience in executing these tasks accurately is mandatory.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation for trade debtor, trade creditors, prepayment and clearing accounts etc. is a core requirement. Prior experience in executing these tasks accurately is mandatory.
  • Managing multiple subsidiaries general ledgers.
  • Coordinating with internal AP/AR teams to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliation and corporate credit cards reconciliation via Concur.
  • Assisting the Management Accountant to mentor accounts officers and trainees.
  • Assisting the Management Accountant or Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects and reports.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, to provide financial information and support.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in an accounting or related business discipline
  • Qualified accountant (CPA or CA), or working towards CA/CPA qualification
  • 2 years recent experience in a similar accounting role, ideally in the hospitality sector
  • Must be experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerised finance software applications, including Microsoft Excel
  • High standard of documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work with minimal external assistance
  • Valid working rights in Australia
  • You must be 18 years or over
