ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our HQ Corporate Finance team, reporting to our Head of Corporate Finance. In this role, you will take charge of essential payroll officer duties, keep our treasury processes running smoothly and provide valuable accounting support to the wider finance function. Your work will directly contribute to our operational efficiency and financial accuracy and you’ll have the chance to make a visible impact every day. Responsibilities are:

  • Manage Australian payroll processes, deadlines, compliance, and employee queries in collaboration with external payroll providers.
  • Prepare payroll journals, reconcile to the general ledger, calculate leave provisions, and support payroll tax, SHE, and workers compensation reporting.
  • Perform DSO calculations, reconcile receipts, monitor debtor aging, and prepare regular cash collection and cashflow reports.
  • Set up payments, support bank-related projects, and assist with group treasury system requirements.
  • Assist with ABS surveys, audits, customer record updates, and continuous process improvements in finance reporting and treasury

You will have 2 years plus experience in an accounting or payroll-focused role. Your strong attention to detail, accuracy and excellent time management will set you up for success. Other requirements are:

  • ERP experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Highly confidential, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Degree in Accounting or related field preferre
