We are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant – Commodity Sales to join our high performing Commercial Finance team based in Nelson.  This role provides the opportunity to gain invaluable commercial experience in a well-recognized organization and a supportive team environment.  Working within a dynamic Commercial team, you’ll take an active role in supporting the accounts receivable and general ledger transactional requirements for Export and Foodservice Sales.  By interacting with individuals at all levels, you’ll also develop strong working relationships both, internally and externally, and be given plenty of opportunity to use your initiative in helping improve systems and processes.   Who we are looking for   To be successful in this role you will need to have a good understanding of basic accounting principles, and previous working exposure to the following may be an advantage but not a pre requisite:   Processing of customer remittances Flow up and resolution of disputed and late accounts receivables transactions Preparation of accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations System and process improvement   You will be process orientated, a logical thinker, able to meet deadlines and, of course, have sound computer literacy including experience with accounting software and intermediate Excel.   You are systems savvy with a “can do” attitude, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a flexible outlook.   You will also need to have the ability to work in an open plan, productive environment within a collaborative team, manage multiple tasks effectively and build strong relationships.   What we are offering Our people are the key to making us a successful New Zealand company operating in a global seafood market.  At Sealord we invest in our employees with ongoing training and career development as well as succession planning and promotion from within.  You will also be entitled to some of the Sealord Employee Benefits including staff discounts on Sealord products.  We encourage an innovative, fun work environment and a positive culture.
