Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in monitoring and reconciling NHS Debt, working closely with Business Office to ensure efficient revenue capture and accurate reporting delivering a comprehensive management accounting function, as well as assisting NHS activity submissions, as well as ad hoc analysis as and when required. This is a practical role and is expected to have a meaningful impact on the running of the site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts
  • Production of timely and accurate statistical and financial information for a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide information and support to hospital managers and staff as and when required
  • Managing NHS debt ( Credit Control )
  • Ensuring NHS Invoicing captures the revenue accurately ( working with Business Office, reconciling PLCM )
  • Providing cover for colleagues in the team
  • Undertaking support for hospital projects and initiatives, under the direction of the Head of Finance and Senior Leadership Team
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance as and when appropriate
