ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

RPS, a Tetra Tech company is looking for a Assistant Accountant to be based in Dublin.

ABOUT THE TEAM

RPS is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Dun Laoghaire. This is a supportive team environment that will provide you with opportunities to develop and build your knowledge and experience within the area of Accounting and Finance. Our Finance team is involved in a wide variety of finance and accounts related work to support the whole Irish business with particular focus on an integration project. You will work closely with the Finance team and Management.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Excellent ICT skills, including MS Excel proficiency, knowledge of Oracle an advantage
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication abilities
  • The ability to work on own initiative, prioritise and manage a number of issues simultaneously and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Leadership - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work closely with Clients to achieve high levels of satisfaction and win-win outcomes.
  • Project Management – Extensive experience in all aspects of delivering projects and programmes of work, including budgeting, forecasting and cost control. Experience of leading, coaching and training project managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA)
  • 3 years relevant experience
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial information including monthly accounts, utilisation reports, and other financial and statistical information as requested.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual accounts for subsequent audit and liaise with auditors.
  • Assist in the management of treasury and cashflow forecasts.
  • Preparation of Revenue returns
  • CSO returns
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • ROS returns of employee expenses
  • Assist in governance and controls
  • Grow our business by strengthening relationships with existing clients and supporting expansion into new markets
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
