Summary: The Assistant Accountant supports the finance team by performing day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations, AP/AR processing, month-end activities, and interdepartmental coordination. The role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of financial transactions. Key Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliation and intercompany loan reconciliation. Conduct balance-sheet expense account reconciliations and assist with budget vs. actual expense comparisons. Prepare and process month-end prepayments and accrual journals. Perform landed cost calculations using spreadsheets to ensure accurate costing. Manage the full Accounts Payable (AP) process for both PO and non-PO invoices. Process payments in both local and foreign currency. Prepare Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices for intercompany and B2B customers (via Popink). Carry out B2B payment reconciliation. Create Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain accurate documentation. Coordinate with the Product Development (PD) and Warehouse (WH) teams to review PO status and make updates as needed. Requirements 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in AP/AR or general accounting. Exposure to Australian tax, accounting, or finance processes is preferred but not required. Experience with MYOB/ABSS is strongly preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including reconciliations and cost/spreadsheet calculations. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal and intercompany stakeholders.
