Job Description The Assistant Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the Finance team by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of financial information. Key responsibilities include assisting with various finance and accounting tasks such as government reporting, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and rebate calculations. This position offers the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of financial statements and gain valuable insights into business operations. As the Assistant Accountant builds a strong commercial mindset, they will contribute to financial analysis and make a significant impact on the business. Will you take the challenge to light up the future together? Key Functions & Responsibilities: Ensure accurate processing and documentation of all financial transactions. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, identifying and resolving outstanding discrepancies. Assist monthly and yearly closing procedures by preparing journals and prepare reports. Assist in the preparation of BAS, PAYG, FBT, and other government reports to ensure compliance. Handle day-to-day tasks such as matching Purchase Orders, invoice allocation and coding. Assist with audit activities by providing required documentation. Provide coverage for the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions when required. Provide ad-hoc reports and financial information as requested Qualifications 1-2 years of proven experience in a similar role Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Experience using ERP systems such as Movex, PowerBI, Xero, and Dynamic 365 (highly desirable) Experience in manufacturing or FMCG background (highly desirable) Skills & Knowledge: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
