Assistant Accountant | Hybrid | Sydney CBD We're looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join Experteq's Finance team and support the day-to-day accounting operations of a growing, regulated technology business. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who enjoys getting into the detail, values accuracy, and wants to build strong fundamentals while working in a supportive, high-performing team. Why This Role Exists As Experteq continues to grow across managed and professional services, this role supports the Finance function in maintaining accurate financial records, smooth month-end processes, and strong financial controls. You'll gain exposure across AP, AR, reporting, and fixed assets, with opportunities to learn and develop over time. What You'll Be Responsible For Assist with Accounts Payable: supplier setup, invoice processing, reconciliations, payments, and staff expenses Support Accounts Receivable: billing, invoicing, collections, customer statements, and payment allocations Respond to and resolve supplier and customer queries Prepare and post journals, accruals, provisions, and cost allocations Assist with month-end and year-end reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Maintain the fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and asset disposals Support compliance with financial controls and assist with ad-hoc reporting What We're Looking For Essential Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role High attention to detail and accuracy Comfortable using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel Completed or currently studying towards an accounting qualification Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Nice to Have Exposure to finance teams in a services or technology environment Understanding of financial controls and compliance frameworks Most importantly, you're keen to learn, collaborative, and take pride in doing the basics well.
