Description
Minerva Marine Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accounting Officer to join our finance team. In this role, you will provide assistance, and data entry services to the department in order to ensure the smooth, accurate and timely implementation of all accounting and tax activities. Main responsibilities Assists in all administrative activities. Communicates, coordinates and maintains the appointments agenda between the Manager and other departments and/or third parties/contacts/suppliers/agents. Maintains office files and records and ensures that information systems and databases are updated at all times. Assembles relevant data as directed. Performs general accounting activities as requested. Prepares financial documents, reports and/or budgets as needed. Prepares, accounting records, tax reports, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Assists in the preparation of necessary books of accounts like cash book, ledger etc. Drafts segment statements and reports. Significantly contributes to a variety of periodic "intermediate" or "end products," such as cost reports, trial balances, balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, or statements of sourcing and application of funds. Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual closing procedures. Maintains invoice payment, ensuring payment is accurate and on time and manages vendor contracts. May contact operating or staff personnel for the purpose of supplying or explaining data, securing information, or describing additional data which could be made available; may furnish limited advice on accounting matters, especially where based on well-established principles and practices. University degree in Economics or Accounting. Post-graduate degree in a relevant field is an asset. 2-5 years of working experience in Commercial Companies with Double – Entry bookkeeping system (ΑΝΩΝΥΜΕΣ ΕΤΑΙΡΙΕΣ, ΕΠΕ, ΙΚΕ). Excellent knowledge of English. Good knowledge of MS Office and Computer. Strong knowledge of taxation law, accounting software and AADE - MYDATA will be an asset.
