Description

Cherrydale Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arlington VA is seeking qualified individuals to join our growing team as an Assistant Administrator. The Assistant Administrator works under the supervision of the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and is responsible for assisting the Administrator in the overall successful operations of the healthcare center.

PREREQUISITES, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Maintain an active, unencumbered license as a Nursing Home Administrator in the applicable state
  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership and business management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading diverse team of individuals.
  • Strong ability to make independent decisions and work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government personnel, and the public.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for providing quality care and maintaining efficient operations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret financial reports and records.
  • Must be knowledgeable of computer systems and applications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Administrator in the planning, development, organization, implementation, evaluation, and direction of the healthcare center’s overall operations in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policy and procedure.
  • Works on-site at healthcare center a minimum of five (5) days per week.
  • Make routine rounds/inspections of the healthcare center to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
  • Participate in state/federal surveys of the healthcare center and ensure timely development and implementation of plan of correction as necessary for any identified deficiencies to ensure that deficiencies do not recur.
  • Meet with department directors regularly to discuss management and operations of the healthcare center and promote teamwork to achieve common goals.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationship with residents, families, and the community.
  • Maintain public/community relations program that serves the best interest of the healthcare center and community.
  • Ensure that the physical plant and grounds are maintained and in good repair.
  • Review incident/accident reports (e.g., falls, injuries, abuse) and monitor to determine the effectiveness of the facility’s risk management program.
  • Ensure that established safety regulations are followed at all times.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the successful operation of the center
