Description:

Heaton Mersey Medical Practice is seeking a proactive and reliable Temporary Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent organisational skills and a passion for delivering high-quality support in a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scanning of letters and clinical correspondence into patient’s notes and assigning to the relevant member of the practice team.
  • Scanning practice-produced paperwork (e.g., insurance reports) into the relevant patient’s notes prior to posting.
  • Registration of new patients, including permanent, temporary, and immediate & necessary registrations.
  • Updating new patients’ electronic notes with relevant information from their health questionnaire.
  • Private fee work: Photocopying and printing of patient notes for the Medical Secretary.
  • Opening post (internal and external) and distributing appropriately, ensuring it is date-stamped for the day of receipt.
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork as requested by team members.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or office-based role (preferably within a healthcare environment).
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with office software.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Friendly and approachable attitude with a professional demeanor.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a medical practice or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with patient management software or similar systems.
