Description Assistant Administrator Position Summary The Assistant Administrator reports to the Administrator and/or VP of Home Health Operations and helps lead day-to-day operations for one or more home health agencies. This role is responsible for making sure the agency delivers high-quality care, stays compliant with regulations, runs efficiently, and maintains a strong, positive workplace culture. Working closely with regional and executive leaders, the Assistant Administrator helps turn company goals into real, measurable results across clinical quality, operations, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Oversee daily agency operations to ensure goals, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are met. Help plan and execute operational strategies that support growth, efficiency, and patient-focused care. Serve as a key decision-maker for clinical, operational, and financial issues. Clinical Quality & Compliance Ensure home health services are delivered safely, effectively, and in compliance with all state and federal regulations. Promote accountability for clinical outcomes, accurate documentation, and patient safety. Oversee performance improvement efforts, utilization review, and corrective action plans. Act as a resource for best practices related to home health operations and compliance. Ensures home health agency is always survey ready. Conducts patient visits to support clinicians in times of need for patient coverage. Financial Oversight Take responsibility for agency financial performance, including budgets, expenses, revenue, and reporting. Develop and monitor branch budgets to support long-term sustainability. Prepare and share operational and performance reports with executive leadership and the Board. People & Culture Recruit, develop, and retain strong clinical and administrative leaders. Set clear expectations for performance, professional growth, and ethical leadership. Ensure staff receive appropriate training, education, and competency evaluations. Build a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Community & Stakeholder Relationships Represent the agency with physicians, referral partners, community organizations, and regulators. Build and maintain relationships that support growth and a strong community presence. Monitor patient satisfaction and lead efforts to improve the patient experience. Governance & Effectiveness Carry out organizational policies and governing body directives consistently. Evaluate programs and services and recommend improvements when needed. Support annual agency evaluations and required reporting activities. Qualifications Experience At least two years of senior management or leadership experience in a licensed healthcare setting (home health, hospice, hospital, nursing facility, or similar). Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a healthcare environment. Two years of home health nursing management experience preferred. Education & Licensure Bachelor’s degree or higher in a healthcare-related field required. Licensed Physician, Registered Nurse, Social Worker, Therapist, or Nursing Home Administrator preferred. Active state license required, as applicable. · Graduate from an accredited college/university is required. (if hired on or after January 13th, 2018, a degree is required; those employed with the Agency and promoted from within may be considered with a High School Diploma or GED) , with experience/education in the healthcare field. · It may be a licensed physician, RN licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or licensed nursing home administrator with at least one year of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, as stated under Experience. For positions in the state of Texas, administrative training (TAC 97.259 / 97.260) required or must be completed within two weeks of hire.
