Post Title: Assistant Administrator (Survey and Systems)
SBU/Department: Academic Registry (Academic Services)
FTE: 0.8FTE (working 29.6 hours per week)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH4 £25,148pa to £28,081pa pro rata by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience
Annual Leave: 25 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: MacLaurin Building, Bishops Square, Hatfield
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Applicants should be highly motivated, proactive and flexible and adaptable to team and workload requirements. You will be able to work accurately under pressure and have a methodical approach and attention to detail. You will have good IT skills and be numerate and literate whilst being able to demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, including a polite, helpful and confident telephone manner. The ability to collect, process and present complex data is key. Tact and diplomacy, with the ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality is crucial.
You will be effective in a team setting, have a can-do attitude to problem-solving and be able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to learn new skills. You will have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, processes and institutional culture and to be proactive in promoting change. Proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation, and experience of working in Higher Education administration is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
You will be educated with a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English, or proven experience.

To undertake a range of general administrative duties relating specifically to the host department. To ensure accurate and correct completion of department-related administration in full compliance with legal and University requirements.
The Assistant Administrator (Survey and Systems) will be required to support the Section Heads in a range of administrative duties within the Systems and Surveys team. You will support the management team in the administration of the department and provide a high standard of customer service, dealing effectively with all customer enquiries and information requests through multiple contact methods. Contact methods will include face-to-face, telephone, IT systems (e.g. email, SMS, Web) and other formats as appropriate.
