Description

Job Advert
We are currently looking for a Full Time Assistant Admissions & Retail Manager to join our Front of House team here at Brooklands Museum.
You will assist the Admissions & Retail Manager in helping support the ongoing development of team members through managing, coaching and motivating the Admissions team to provide all visitors with an engaging welcome and a friendly goodbye, maximise income opportunities through eliciting voluntary donations, ensuring that upselling is delivered for Gift Aid on Entry Admission at all entry points, and maximising the sales of shop merchandise across the site, assisting visitors when necessary.
You’ll be responsible for the presentation of the visitor journey from the arrival experience at our visitor car park and our events entrances, through to our admissions and retail buildings and the surrounding outdoor areas. With a great eye for detail you’ll ensure that all areas are cleaned, uncluttered and well-presented prior to opening and displays are replenished throughout the day in a timely manner, maximising the display opportunities for the relevant visitor profile. You’ll ensure a tidy working environment is maintained throughout the day. You will assist with stock ordering, check deliveries are accurate, price stock and ensure shop displays are replenished. You’ll be involved in the manual handling of stock, including lifting heavy boxes as required from time to time for which training will be provided.
Working closely with staff from other departments you will ensure that you keep up to date with developments in the museum including changes on our offer, new events and activities. In the Admissions & Retail Managers absence, you will be responsible for making sure the team are always aware of what is happening at the museum and have a detailed knowledge of our events and retail products so they can confidently impart this with visitors.
Brooklands Museum, in Weybridge, Surrey is on the 32-acre site of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit and the most productive aircraft factories in Europe in the twentieth century. We are an independent charity and we welcome over 180,000 visitors each year including over 13,000 school students as part of our award-winning learning programme.
As we are a visitor attraction, our priority is delivering a memorable and inspiring experience for all visitors and ensuring we meet our commitment of ‘Brooklands at its best, every day’. So, no matter what role you join us in, you will have a very important part to play in this.
