The Long Island University Lewyt College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York, invites applications from self-directed, innovative and motivated individuals for a full-time, or part-time faculty position. The full-time position may be tenure or clinical track in veterinary emergency medicine/ critical care. Primary responsibilities will include clinical and didactic teaching in Emergency Medicine. Successful candidates are expected to promote LIU-CVM’s overall mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through a commitment to teaching, academic excellence, and service to a variety of stakeholders.
Active engagement in curriculum development, identification or creation of innovative learning resources, committee service participation (such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) is expected of both clinical and tenure track full-time faculty. All full-time tenure track faculty contribute to the overall research and scholarly goals of the College of Veterinary Medicine and are expected to develop independent or collaborative clinically-based research in the field of veterinary emergency medicine within and outside LIU, which may include working with LIU-CVM partner/affiliate veterinary hospitals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must have a DVM or equivalent degree, and expertise in Emergency Medicine Critical Care. Specialty board certification/eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia or equivalent is essential. The successful candidate will be the course director of the emergency medicine course delivered during the foruth year of the DVM program. S/he/they will interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, staff, students and alumni.
