Description

A position as tenured Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Pharmaceutics is open at the Department of Physics Chemistry and Pharmacy , Faculty of Science, SDU and to be filled at earliest convenience.
A candidate with experience within pharmaceutical sciences facilitating cooperation with the current pharmacy staff is prioritized.

These include research within:

  • Biopharmaceutics, especially drug absorption and drug transporters,
  • Drug formulation, especially parenteral and oral formulations,
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and engineering, and
  • Advanced pharmaceutical analysis.

It is furthermore expected that the successful candidate has a genuine interest in and experience with interdisciplinary research and is bridge-building between the relevant scientific disciplines at the department.

SKILLS

An MSc in Pharmacy or equivalent and a PhD degree in a pharmaceutically relevant field are required for the position. It is expected that the successful candidate will bridge-build between the relevant scientific disciplines of interdisciplinary nature at the department and beyond. A genuine interest in teaching and the ability to communicate clearly is a prerequisite. For non-Danish speaking applicants, it is sought that teaching in Danish will be possible after two years of appointment.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in educational programs at the department, mainly within the pharmacy education.
  • Establish highly impactful independent research in the field of pharmaceutics.
  • Obtain external funding for independent research and collaborative research programs.
  • Mentor undergraduate, graduate, and research students.
  • Bridge-build between the various disciplines within the interdisciplinary Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy.
  • Initiate and participate in public, media, and local school outreach activities.
  • Participate in the daily operation, administration and further development of the department’s strategy and education programs.
