Description
Description Full-time/Onsite Hull Property Group (HPG) isn’t a typical real estate company. Headquartered in Augusta, Georgia, this privately held firm owns and self-manages more than 20 million square feet of retail space across the United States, making it one of the nation’s largest retail real estate owners. Our team transforms underperforming malls and shopping centers into thriving community assets — and we handle every part of the process in-house, from development and construction to leasing, acquisitions, accounting, marketing, and philanthropy. Our Legal Department is looking for an Assistant/Associate Counsel who’s ready to learn fast, think critically, and contribute to real, high-impact work. You’ll work directly with a talented team of six in-house attorneys and three paralegals, with experience in real estate, litigation, business strategy, and public policy in a fast-paced environment that blends real estate, litigation, business strategy, and public policy. This isn’t just legal support — it’s legal leadership training from day one. What You’ll Do Take ownership of litigation and dispute matters related to commercial real estate, from lease enforcement to property claims. Support real estate tax appeals across the country, coordinating with local counsel and valuation experts. Draft and refine pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence for senior review. Assist with land use, zoning, and permitting issues that shape how projects come to life. Research and analyze legal issues across a wide range of real estate and business topics. Partner with internal teams — leasing, acquisitions, construction, property management — to offer practical, business-minded legal advice. Manage outside counsel and ensure cost-effective, strategic case handling. Why Augusta, Why Hull This role is based in our Augusta, Georgia headquarters — a city that offers a growing professional community, a low cost of living, and a quality of life that lets you focus on both career and personal growth. Becoming part of Hull Property Group means working alongside people who believe in long-term value, community impact, and excellence in execution. Requirements What You Bring Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active Georgia Bar membership (or eligibility for reciprocity). Outstanding research, writing, and analytical ability. A proactive mindset — able to juggle multiple projects with focus and discipline. Curiosity, energy, and a willingness to dive in and learn from complex, real-world legal problems. Readiness to travel for hearings, inspections, and property matters as needed.
