Title: Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Surgical Pathology Job Type: Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Pathology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park) is seeking a Board-certified or Board-eligible academic Surgical Pathologist for its Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department. Roswell Park is a Public Benefit Corporation formed by New York State in 1999 and is a nationally ranked NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center located in Buffalo, NY. The Department of Pathology at Roswell Park is engaged in clinical, educational and research missions as part of a nationally ranked academic medical center focused on the treatment of cancer. We are focused on innovation with a focus on providing cutting edge solutions in all aspects of pathology. The department is organized by six divisions of anatomic pathology, hematopathology, lab medicine, molecular pathology, pathology outreach, and informatics, with each led by a Vice Chair. The successful candidate will join the surgical pathology staff to provide diagnostic services and translational research support to an outstanding clinical and scientific faculty in a collegial and cooperative environment. A wide variety of interesting oncologic cases, both in-house and in our consultation practice, will be encountered. Development of an independent research program is encouraged and will be supported. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience License and Certification Requirement 1. License or permit to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York. 2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Pathology or a specialty of Anatomic Pathology, Experimental Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Cytogenetics, Molecular Diagnostics, Flow Cytometry, Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology or Autopsy Pathology. NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices. Roswell Park developed photodynamic therapy (PDT), approved by the FDA for the treatment of esophageal cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, and precancerous lesions in patients with Barrett's esophagus. Roswell Park is now developing the second generation of PDT drugs. Roswell Park geneticists created the gene library used to map and sequence the human genome. An Roswell Park geneticist was part of the research team involved in the international effort.
